An expedition to the Philippines revealed more than 100 marine species new to science.
Over the course of seven weeks, the team – from the California Academy of Science – collected specimens including sea slugs, barnacles, and heart urchins. This image shows stinging hydroids – Aglaophenia cupressina – that belongs to the marine hydroid family Aglaopheniidae.
