 Wherever there is a need to test optical systems for resolution or materials for movement, stress, distortion or shape a transmission grating can be used. Pyser-SGI has just added to their range of Ronchi rulings with the introduction of a 200 liner per mm version. This 200 line-pairs per mm all glass slide can be used with microscope or camera systems to check for resolution and distortion. The Pyser-SGI range of transmission gratings are produced in various sizes as a vacuum deposited chrome image on glass, or as a photographic image on film, to give very precise line patterns, and are available with a variety of pitches to suit the measurement precision required.
