Symyx Technologies has announced the release of Symyx Notebook 6.2. The Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) supplements existing functionality for analytical chemistry research and biology with new capabilities supporting synthetic and medicinal chemistry investigations. This has been achieved by adding Symyx chemical representation, chemical reaction and compound registration functionality to the core product. The Symyx chemistry engine powers the well known ISIS scientific information platform that underlies many chemistry registration, inventory and other systems used in the chemical industries. In addition, Symyx Notebook 6.2 adds chemistry information enabling scientists to access current chemical sourcing, molecular property, synthetic methodology and toxicology information from Symyx and participating content providers in the context of laboratory workflows.
