Lead Mechatronic Designer - North Yorkshire/Teesside

An opportunity has arisen at Labman Automation Ltd for a design minded, enthusiastic person in the field of medical device manufacture. The role is expected to include: research (50%), design (15%), report and presentation writing (25%), travel and conferences (10%). The successful applicant will have the following qualities as a minimum:

· Ability to self motivate and perform research without supervision

· A background involved with medical devices and their regulation

· A mechatronic aptitude

· Ability to concisely appraise designs, summarising advantages and disadvantages and ultimately decide upon a development route

· Confident when speaking to a group and competent with power point style presentations

· Competent in written English and the use of Microsoft word

· Willingness to travel to all parts of Europe and Israel

The following qualities would be advantageous but not essential:

· Knowledge of AutoCAD 2004

· Experience of managing small projects

· Experience of medical devices

· Engineering and medical field qualifications

Labman is a small dynamic company who develop automated equipment for customers worldwide. This role is specifically in the field of medical device design and manufacture. The work is in connection with the development of an implantable sensor system.

The salary range is £22,000 to £30,000 pa.
